Megan and I met while struggling through Italian classes together in the winter. We had come here for different reasons, but found ourselves learning what we could together to communicate… and a friendship was born.

And now she’s leaving Milano and Italia!

Ever since our classes this winter, we’ve been getting together with other women just to keep up and keep in touch. And now she heads back to the U.S. to re-forge a life and vision for what she wants.

We got together the other night with Meltem and Ozdem, both from Turkey, for aperitivo and “Sex and the City” (the movie) and just to have some time chatting.

I send them all the best wishes, the greatest hopes, the dearest visions of what they  hope for their lives. …and expect that, someday, they will show up on my doorstep in Seattle with a big “hello”.
